endia’s artificial intelligence startup ecosystem is witnessing a sharp increase in funding activity, with several companies raising or preparing to raise substantial amounts as investors step up bets on the country’s AI capabilities.
Among the latest developments, AI-native research and manufacturing startup Mstack AI is reportedly in discussions to raise at least $30 million in a new funding round, according to industry sources. The round could potentially increase to between $40 million and $50 million, although a final decision has not yet been made.
Existing investors Alpha Wave and Lightspeed are expected to participate significantly, while Prosperity7 Ventures is reportedly considering a smaller investment. Mstack AI is understood to have a pre-money valuation of around $230 million.
The funding momentum is not limited to Mstack. Generative AI startup Simplismart is also reportedly working on a funding round of around $50 million. Peak XV Partners is expected to contribute approximately $30 million, while Nvidia is in discussions to potentially participate in the round. Existing investors, including Accel, Dallas Venture Capital and Shastra VC, could provide the remaining capital.
The developments highlight the growing confidence among global and domestic investors in India’s artificial intelligence sector. In recent months, several Indian AI startups have attracted large investments, indicating that funding is expanding beyond a small group of companies.
Sarvam AI recently secured a major funding round, while AI startup Emergent raised $130 million and reached unicorn status. Ema has also been in discussions for a potential $80 million fundraise.
The broader investment pipeline appears equally active. Several AI startups are reportedly in talks to raise fresh capital, while venture capital firms are preparing larger funds specifically targeting artificial intelligence and deep-tech opportunities.
Together Fund, for instance, is reportedly preparing to raise a new fund of between $150 million and $200 million, reflecting growing investor appetite for AI-focused businesses.
The surge comes as Indian startups increasingly focus on generative AI, AI-native products, automation, research and advanced computing. While valuations and funding expectations remain subject to market conditions, the latest deals suggest that investors continue to view AI as one of the most promising areas of India’s technology economy.
If the current pipeline converts into completed transactions, India’s AI funding market could see another significant expansion in the months ahead.
